The maximum loan amount has been increased to $50,000
Starting and existing entrepreneurs can apply for a Microcredit of up to $50,000 from Qredits starting January 1, 2017. With this increase, Qredits is able to finance even more (starting) entrepreneurs and further stimulate entrepreneurship in Bonaire. Qredits has decided to raise the amount of the Microcredit in Bonaire from $25,000 to $50,000.
The demand for Microcredit has increased significantly over the past year. In practice, Qredits has seen that a considerable number of applications could not be processed because the requested credit exceeded the maximum limit of $25,000. There is a growing need for financing through Qredits for higher loan amounts. Partly due to the credit increase, Qredits can further support entrepreneurship in Bonaire.
Qredits has been operating a branch on Bonaire since its opening in 2015, located at Kaya Amsterdam 23, Kralendijk. To date, more than 65 credit applications have been submitted to Qredits. Currently, over 20 businesses have been financed with a Microcredit, and several applications are still being processed.
In addition to Microcredit, Qredits supports aspiring entrepreneurs in writing their business plans. This can be done through the e-learning Writing a Business Plan (available in three languages) or by participating in the BeYourOwnBoss Evening School. Finally, Qredits offers coaching to entrepreneurs through its dedicated coaching network.
