On to the next 300!
KRALENDIJK, August 18, 2021 – On August 16, Qredits Bonaire celebrated its 300th loan issuance. The 300th Microcredit was granted to entrepreneur Andrew Sint Jago, enabling him to purchase a septic tank truck for his business, ‘Diamond Septic Services.’ Qredits has been active on Bonaire since 2015, offering loans of up to $50,000 to new and existing entrepreneurs for starting or growing their businesses.
Mr. Elwin Groenevelt, Director of Qredits, Mr. Hennyson Thielman, Representative of the Public Entity Bonaire, and the Qredits Bonaire team presented a symbolic check to entrepreneur Andrew Sint Jago. Andrew Sint Jago is a local entrepreneur who originally worked as a plumber. Over the past few years, he worked as a manager/maintenance worker at an after-school care center. In May 2021, he founded his business, ‘Diamond Septic Services.’ In addition to septic tank cleaning, the company also offers other services, such as repairing sewer systems and fixing blockages.
Qredits Bonaire aims to strengthen entrepreneurship on Bonaire by offering Microcredits of up to $50,000 to (start-up) entrepreneurs. It also provides personal coaching and other resources focused on the development of the entrepreneur and their business. Existing entrepreneurs can also apply for corona bridge loans of up to $40,000. These loans are intended to help businesses bridge the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis. Entrepreneurs pay an interest rate between 1.75% and 6.75% for the entire loan term, depending on the type of bridge loan.
