The BES-Culture Loan is specifically for entrepreneurs active in the cultural and creative sector in Bonaire.
And many more to come!
KRALENDIJK, June 22, 2018 – This morning, Commissioner Edison Rijna handed over the 100th Microcredit from Qredits Bonaire to entrepreneurs Phenice and Revello Frans. With this loan, they can realize their growth ambitions for their company 'Davana Holding B.V.' Qredits has been active on Bonaire since 2015. Start-up and existing entrepreneurs can borrow up to $50,000 for the start or growth of their business.
Mr. Edison Rijna presented a symbolic cheque this morning at the local restaurant Konfó to entrepreneurs Phenice and Revello. Ms. Phenice is a local entrepreneur who has known since a young age that she wanted to become an architect. Together with her husband, she has finally taken the leap; her own interior design agency has become a reality. With the Microloan, she aims to achieve growth. She will use the funds for inventory, furnishings, and equipment for the business.
Qredits Bonaire’s goal is to strengthen entrepreneurship on Bonaire by offering loans of up to $50,000 to (start-up) entrepreneurs. They also offer personal coaching.
As a result, Qredits acts as a partner to the entrepreneur. Since the end of 2015, Qredits has had a branch in Bonaire at Kaya Amsterdam 23, Kralendijk. Many loan applications have been submitted, and 100 loans have been financed. The businesses vary widely, from local fishing, clothing stores, and juice bars to charming restaurants. All of them faced difficulties in obtaining financing and sought that extra bit of support. In addition, Qredits provides assistance with writing a business plan. This can be done through the e-learning Business Plan Writing (available in three languages) or by participating in the BeYourOwnBoss Evening School.
